Saving Lives through Mediation: Violence Intervention Services
Mediation is an interventionist approach to halting violence, or what we call on the streets, ’squashing beef.’ Our street mentors actively earn the community’s trust, identify potential violence, and settle disputes on the street using evidence-based mediation techniques.
HOW WE DO IT
We get the streets. We get you. But we never get with the police.
Our Street Mentors are successful because of one word—trust. The community knows that we get the streets, we get you, and we never get with the police.

We Get the Streets
Our street mentors spend half their time earning the trust of community leaders, corner stores, and schools. The other half of their time is spent earning trust of shooters so we can deescalate the situation before it starts.

We Get You
Our street mentors are from the streets, so we get you and what you’re going through. We are trained to reduce tension and de-escalate the most violent situations through listening and talking shooters off the ledge.

We Don’t Get with the Police
We ain’t snitches. So many organizations out there don’t have the trust of the community because they snitch to the police. No disrespect, but we never worked with the police, and we never will. Period.
